Wednesday Team League
2010 Wild Marsh GC Wednesday Night Men's League Rules and Procedures
Team Format:
Match play, 4 players. (A team may have six players but four must play each week) Players are ranked A, B, C and D according to their handicap. (Handicaps are updated every two weeks) There are a total of 44 points available each week. One point for each hole won. One point awarded to the winner of the match. One point awarded for low net of the match. (4 matches = 44 points)
Teams accumulate points week to week. There will be 1st Half and 2nd Half winners. The top eight teams will receive payouts in each Half.
The season will run from April 14th to Sept. 29th. This includes mandatory Kick Off Meeting, Team Event and banquet, 18-league matches, 4th of July Bye week, individual player shoot out night, fall Team Events and a rain date. We will have a team event and nandatory kick off meeting on April 14. This will be a 5:00 PM shotgun followed immediately with dinner and meeting. An end of season awards banquet will be on September 1st immediately following completion of the round. Food for these banquets is included in the league fee.
Team Captains:
Are responsible for having four players present. A Sub List will be provided, however anyperson with a current handicap can sub. If the sub does not have a handicap, the sub will get a handicap on their low round and be given 80% of that handicap. This rule also applies to league members who do not have an established HDCP when league begins. It is the Team Captain’s responsibility to secure a substitute player when needed! (All last minute subs inherit the position of the player they are substituting for and give or receive strokes as dictated by opponent’s handicap) Team captains are responsible for calling or e-mailing their roster by noon the Tuesday prior to each night of league including the use of a sub. **Teams with more than 4 players can sub on other teams. **If no subs are needed, the extra player(s) may play with their team or paired in a game but they are NOT part of the match. (Score will count towards year round individual totals.)
League Maintenance Program: Team Captains must make sure that your team spends 5-10 minutes after completion of the last hole of the match fixing ball marks!
Proximities:
Are part of the League Fee Pay Outs. Prizes will be gift certificates. There will be 2 events for each nine holes with a total of 4 gift certificates to be given per night. Front 9: Closet to pin will alternate between 4 & 8 every 2 weeks and long putt will alternate between 9 and 1 every 2 weeks. Back 9: Closest to pin will alternate between 13 & 16 every 2 weeks and long putt will alternate between 10 & 18 every 2 weeks.
Individual Player Shoot Out:
The defending Champion and the top 20 individual low net scores and ties from the year at 80% of handicap will qualify for a shoot out on September 2nd. The Shoot Out is included in the league fee and awarded in gift certificates. Note: You need one good score to qualify. There will be an optional $10 game for players who want to participate in a cash game. Shoot Out standings will be posted weekly.
Skins:
Individual gross and net skins games will be held each week. These will be cash-only games and are optional - $5.00 for each event. A maximum of one shot will be given on par threes in the net game. Winners will be posted the following week with the winnings given out in the golf shop.
Individual Low Gross & Low Net:
We will keep track of individual low gross and net scores and have 1st half and 2nd half winners using the low five rounds from each half to decide the winners. There will be three places paid out for gross and net, and you may only win in one or the other, not both.
Rain Policies:
All players must show up at the course no matter what weather conditions are. We will only cancel a match if we have very severe weather in the area. If severe weather moves in and we have to suspend play, points will be awarded for the least amount of holes completed of all the matches. This means you might only play one hole and get 1 point. No points awarded for the match or low net. Can only earn points on holes played.

Handicaps:
We will have 9 hole league handicaps. Scores will be posted by the Golf Shop staff and only league rounds will be posted. GHIN handicaps will be available for those who would like to continue to have an 18 hole handicap. Cost will be $25.00.
- One half of your regular USGA HDCP (for odd number handicaps the higher number is used for the front and the lower number is used for the back; i.e. 11 handicap = 6 on the front & 5 on the back), OR
- If the player does not have a handicap, he should report to the club pro before playing and the pro will assign a handicap.
All adjusted 9-hole league scores will be posted by the Golf Shop Staff.
“No Show Penalty”:
If a team is missing a player(s)for a match, the team will have 5 points per player removed from their total for that evening. Reminder for 2010 – we will not be playing against par when a team is short a player! (We will only play against par if we have a team not show up.) An individual from the team short a player will be involved in two matches. Example: AB/CD players, B is absent, A will play against A and B, giving or taking appropriate strokes. If C is absent D will play against C and D. Make sure you have all of your players!
“Summer Rules”:
We are playing summer rules.
- This means no “bumping/touching” your ball anywhere between the tee box and the green. Any exceptions to this rule will be announced prior to the league round.
- To use the drop area across the hazard on Hole #7, the shot played must be trying to clear the water (not lying up) and your ball must cross over the yellow hazard stakes. If your ball starts over the red stakes, you must drop in accordance with the rule 26-1 for a lateral hazard.
- Because of the Individual Low Gross and Net Games there will be no giving of putts. All players MUST putt out!
- You may mark your ball after putting.
- Drop areas will be preferred lies.
Scoring of points: 44 Points Total
- Match play format. Match play rules apply.
- Each hole will be worth one point. Any ties points will be halved. 9 points total.
- One point awarded to the winner of the match and another point awarded to the low net of the match. Any ties points will be halved. 2 points total.
- 9 + 2 = 11 points available per match x 4 matches = 44 points available.
- For individual low gross and low net awards a player must post 5 rounds per half. We will pay out 3 low gross and low net winners per half. $200 per half, 1st = $50, 2nd = $30 and 3rd = $20. Can only win ounce you cannot win a low gross and low net prize.

League Night Protocals
- Check in by 5:15 p.m. Course opens to League Players at 3:00 p.m.
- At starting holes by 5:25 p.m.
NOTE: Later in season starting times may be earlier as the amount of daylight diminishes. - League members that are not season pass holders will be charged $27.00 Green Fees walking 9 or 18 holes $30 riding 9 holes and $35 riding 18 holes starting at 3:00 p.m.
- Skin games are optional. If you wish to join, skin game signup sheets will be set up at the Golf Shop counter, specify front 9 or back 9 gross, net or both. $5 per game.
- Captains for each team will have to pick up score cards in the golf shop and let their team members know which hole they will be starting on. Captains will also have to dot scorecards if they have a late sub.
- Score cards should be signed and attested to by the players and given to team captain to turn into Golf Shop immediately following play!! No Score Card = No Points!!
- A Scoreboard will be positioned in front of the Golf Shop with team numbers, schedule, hole assignments, weekly winners and any special rules of play for the day. The Bulletin Board outside the Golf Shop will have the overall results posted on a weekly basis.
- Please remember to repair ball marks, replace divots and rake bunkers. If you see anyone not doing any of these, please remind them to do so.
- Golf cars have to be off of the course by 30 minutes after sunset!
